1 DAY SIA SECURITY OFFICER / GUARD TOP UP BIRMINGHAM WITH BLUE LINE TRRAINING

Course overview

Before the SIA licence can be renewed beginning in October 2021, it is compulsory for security guards to take top-up training. As a result, this Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Top Up) course is made for participants who already have a Security Industry Authority (SIA) security officer licence but need to be renewed as per the new licence linked qualifications requirements.

This Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Top-Up) course is supported by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), which oversees the private security industry. It is based on the pertinent SIA specification for learning and qualifications.

All holders of a Security Guard licence must have an emergency first aid certificate as of today (1 October 2021) in order to renew their licence.

New Knowledge in Top-Up Course

This Top-Up course for security officers in the Private Security Industry covers a variety of subjects, such as minimising personal risk and responding to major (or global) incidents. Terror threat awareness and the security operative’s responsibility in the case of a threat are also discussed to reduce the risk for security officers.

The new knowledge included in Top-Up Training for an SIA Licence was introduced to acknowledge the new hazards and challenges of contemporary security guard positions. For instance, you’ll gain expertise in crowd management, best practices for working in security following a pandemic, and the ability to recognise and prevent terrorist attacks in advance.
